Generally speaking, the newer the DLC, the better the visual quality - so Going East, Scandanavia, Viva la France is oldest to newest. - If you want long haul deliveries, Going East is a must. - If you want windy mountain tunnels, Scandanavia. - If you want pretty countryside and small villages to drive through, Vive la France.

Ownable gas cisterns . Much like ownable chemical, milk and fuel trailers, v1.47 is set to feature ownable gas cisterns for ATS and ETS2. These will be used to transport highly flammable gases such as methane, propane and liquefied petroleum (LPG).
I personally like Italy the most, but if you don't have any map DLCs then consider picking up the Map Booster Bundle when it's on sale. It's a bit pricey, but it seems to go on sale whenever the game does (which is pretty often), and if you can pick it up at a deep enough discount it's a great buy :) [deleted]
ADR class 1 also allows you to play makeshift fuel tanker for half-decent pay, if so tickles your fancy. The two drop side variants are incredibly limited. They have very few cargo types, and rarely pay any more than 50 €/km. The crane variant actually pays less, due to it being able to carry less cargo.
